    What is a “ForgetMeKnotQR”?

A ForgetMeKnotQR is a specially manufactured two piece acrylic square with a QR code (that can be scanned to link to a website) and an identification code etched into it. There are two different models: 1) attached to the back, a black, double sided tape with a peel and stick exterior so it may affix to an object; and 2) a free standing model to display on any flat surface.

    What is a “QR Code”?

A QR Code is a term that’s become popular for a “Quick Response Code”. These are graphic shapes that contain embedded information. Much like a barcode, they contain information and are scanned with an electronic device to read that code.

How is a QR Code “Read”?

Software on an electronic device such as a smartphone reads the information embedded in the graphic shape. The software is free and is available for all types of mobile devices. But, they must be installed on your device to read the code. Additionally, older phones may not be able to properly read the code.

Where can I get a QR Code Reader?

These are available in many spots.Scroll to the bottom of any page to see some links on our website.

What information is in the ForgetMeKnotQR?

For the best, most precise mobile device reading, we have embedded ONLY a website address, or URL. The smaller the amount of information embedded, the less the number of graphic “squiggles”, and the better your device will read the information.

Define Dynamic vs. Static URL for QR Codes. And, what it involves.

Our QR Codes have dynamic URL’s (website addresses). That means you can contact us to have the URL changed, and your ForgetMeKnotQR will still work. A Static URL would not be able to be changed. They are cheaper, but much less useful.

What is required of the mobile device?

The mobile device must able to read INVERTED QR colors. Our ForgetMeKnotQR is a white code on a black background.

    Where can the ForgetMeKnotQR point?

Simply contact us through our online form (click here to change your destination URL) and we’ll change where your ForgetMeKnotQR points. There is a one-time charge for each update.

I'm putting my QR code at the cemetery. What happens if my QR code plaque gets damaged by the grounds keeping activities?

Our ForgetMeKnotQR are made of durable acrylic and should withstand a lot of ground's keeping activities and weather. If you find that it becomes hard to read your ForgetMeKnotQR, you might check to make sure the acrylic is clean enough and free from any material that would interfere with your mobile device’s camera properly reading the code. However, if your ForgetMeKnotQR gets damaged in such a way that it is not possible to read the code, then you’ll need to contact us to purchase a new ForgetMeKnotQR. Our ForgetMeKnotQR are weather resistant.

How can we use the ForgetMeKnotQR?

There are two different models: one with black, double sided, peel and stick tape attached to the back so that it may be affixed to an object; and the second free standing model to display on any flat surface.

How do I stick the ForgetMeKnotQR to a memorial?

First clean and dry the surface. Rubbing alcohol works well to remove the surface dirt and evaporates quickly. Make sure it's smooth, without any loose material on it. Adhere the ForgetMeKnotQR by peeling the protective layer off the black outdoor rated adhesive backing. Place the ForgetMeKnotQR CAREULLY onto the surface. Once it is placed on the memorial, it cannot be moved - so place carefully!
